Kurkum
Introducing KURKUM – a lovely ginger boy with the sweetest pink nose and a heart full of love just waiting to be shared.
Kurkum’s journey began when he was found as a tiny kitten, hiding under a car near his rescuer’s neighbourhood feeding spot in Bahrain. He was hungry and frightened, keeping his distance from the bigger cats. As his rescuer approached, she noticed a strong, unpleasant smell – something wasn’t right.
A vet check confirmed that Kurkum had calicivirus. Thankfully, with the right care and lots of love, he made a full recovery. He did have to have some of his teeth removed, so now he just needs a little help cleaning his mouth after meals – a small ask for such a loving boy. Today, he’s healthy, happy, and patiently waiting in a rescue home for a family to call his own.
At first, Kurkum was shy in his rescue home—but that didn’t last long. Within days, his true personality began to shine. He’s now a confident, cuddly, and affectionate little boy who loves attention. He enjoys being carried, hugged, and showered with head rubs while he naps. He’ll happily come over for love, but also responds eagerly when his foster mum calls him for pets and scratches.
Kurkum is a curious soul who likes to watch birds through the window and enjoys a good stretch on his scratcher. He’s also playful, entertaining himself with toys or joining in with his humans. He’s neat with his litter tray, eats both wet and dry food, and is easy to care for.
Kurkum has shown that once he feels safe, he blossoms into a cuddly, friendly companion. We’re sure that in a real home – his own home – he’ll shine even more. This boy has so much love to give. All he needs now is a chance.
