Hansel & Gretel
Meet Hansel & Gretel – two tiny fairytale siblings who found each other when they needed it most ![]()
Their story began in a heartbreaking way. Staff at a pet shop noticed two little kittens had been dumped outside and left there for days; crying, frightened, and completely confused about why no one was coming back for them. When help was finally asked for, only Gretel could be found at first. She was taken straight to the vet for a full check. Later that same evening, another rescuer found Hansel, and thankfully the staff had kept him safe until he could be taken for the care he needed too.
Both kittens were thankfully healthy, but one small detail said a lot about what they’d already endured; both had unusually short whiskers, as if someone had cut them. They are now safe, growing stronger every day, and ready for the next chapter, together.
Hansel and Gretel are exactly what you hope for in kittens: sweet, playful, and full of affection. They don’t mind being picked up and cuddled, and when they’re carried together they melt into each other; sometimes literally laying on one another like a little hug. They’re cuddly lap cats who love people, are happy around other cats, and adore any toys they can get their paws on (their favourite is the ball tower!). Food-wise, they enjoy wet food and chicken most, but they’ll eat dry food too.
Like their storybook names, these two are at their best side by side; brave together, playful together, and always choosing each other. We are looking for a home that will adopt Hansel & Gretel as a bonded pair, so they never have to face the world alone again.
If you think you could offer Hansel & Gretel their happily ever after, please contact our page – Clan McCat Scotland: International Cat Rescue – Charity number SC051803.
Thank you for helping us help them.
