Duchess
Meet Duchess – a regal beauty with a soft tortoiseshell coat, glowing amber eyes
Duchess’ story is one of quiet heartbreak. She, her kittens, and their father were left in a box outside a rescuer’s home with a note—abandoned without so much as a knock on the door. This little feline family was left sitting on a doorstep, confused and frightened, not knowing why or where they were.
But from the moment she was taken in, Duchess showed the quiet strength and gentle spirit that makes her so special.
She’s a calm and composed girl, happiest in peaceful surroundings where she can unwind at her own pace. At first, she may watch you from afar, but once she feels safe, she’ll come over with soft head rubs and ask for gentle strokes. Duchess isn’t one to demand attention—but she melts when it’s offered kindly. Even her playfulness is gentle and she loves toys with feathers most of all.
Duchess is FIV positive so will need to be an indoor only kitty or with a secure catio but that doesn’t stop her from living a full, happy life. She can be homed with other calm, friendly FIV+ cats or as the only cat. Her ideal home would be calm and low-stress—one where she has space to retreat when she needs it, and lots of love when she’s ready.
She’s not a high-energy cat—she prefers gentle play and relaxing with her humans. She gets along beautifully with both kittens and adult cats, and her gentle nature brings calm wherever she goes.
Duchess has known uncertainty, but she’s ready now for her forever. A home where she’ll never be abandoned and left behind again.
